Background to the Life of Messiah

Welcome to the Life of Messiah at Tacoma Grace Bible Church! We are so excited to walk through the earthly ministry of Jesus together with you. This study will last six months, covering all four gospels. Naturally, there is a lot to cover! This introduction covers some topics which may be helpful for you to refer back during the study. This includes (1) the methodology of this study, (2) the Greco-Roman, (3) and Jewish backgrounds to the cultural setting of Jesus’ life, (4) the Messianic anticipation among Jews by the first century, (5) and the New Testament’s use of Old Testament quotations.
